Principals
JOANNE GAINEN, Ph.D., President
Joanne
Gainen, President and Senior Survey Consultant, helps managers and
consultants reliably and painlessly obtain online customer and employee
feedback and analyze results for maximum impact on business objectives.
Joanne
established her first business, The Survey Company, in 1996. Her
passion for streamlining data collection and reporting led her to
focus the company exclusively on Internet surveys, including online
360-degree feedback assessments and more recently, online focus
groups.
Drawing
on her background in instruction and research, Joanne uses statistical
analysis, high-impact charts and brief narrative explanations to
clarify results and simplify interpretation. These tools enable
organizations to set priorities based on a sound, statistically
valid understanding of what drives strategic business outcomes such
as employee morale and productivity or customer satisfaction and
loyalty.
Joanne
works with clients to tailor surveys and reports to their specific
organizational needs and culture. She is a psychologist (Ph.D. University
of Washington) with nearly 20 years of experience in design, management,
and analysis of surveys for individual and organizational feedback
and development.
DAVE FLACK, Senior
Research Consultant
Dave
Flack, Research Consultant, has managed research projects for both
large (Corning, General Electric, HP, IBM, Nortel, Zurich Insurance)
and mid-sized enterprises. This actionable research resulted in
improved customer satisfaction, product development and website
performance for his clients. For the past five years Dave has been
on conducting Web-based focus groups and designing, deploying, and
analyzing online surveys.
Dave
began his career in industrial marketing and business research with
Dun and Bradstreet and later worked for KDI Corporation and Litton
Industries.
In
addition to doing research, Dave has worked in marketing communication
and journalism. He was Editor-in-Chief of UnixWorld, an international
computer magazine published by The McGraw-Hill Companies. Dave is
a 1967 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he studied
electrical engineering and business administration.
Wendy Russ, Web Survey
Designer
Wendy Russ, Web Designer,
has eighteen years of team and project management along with more
than ten years experience in Internet research and consulting, including
market research and analysis, survey design, web site usability,
and business strategy planning.
Originally
a designer, she received a BFA in art and art history from the University
of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Since entering the technology field,
Wendy's focus has been on research and analysis with the particular
aim of helping teams work together to make content and information
accessible to clients, customers, and other users over the Internet.
While
working with surveys and online focus groups her attention has been
on survey implementation/deployment; survey programming using HTML,
Javascript and Perl; password security for limited access surveys;
and managing multi-stage testing and quality assurance for individual
surveys.
